Thassos Island - Honey
Since ancient times, Thassos has been an important apical centre. The main source for the bees are the pine forests.
Although a large part of the island's forests have been destroyed, its inhabitants have continued to plant pines and helped restoring the forests.
Today they produce an enormous quantity if honey which comes from the trees (pine, rod) and flowers. The apical centre of Thassos is located in Prinos. Here they collect all the honey from the producers and then they distribute it on the local market, or abroad.
They don't use processes or additives that might destroy the organic ingredients of the product.
