Thassos Island - Marble
Thassos marble is known to be the whitest in the world.
It has been exported even since the 6 th century BC and it has been used for building temples and other important buildings. From the 1 st century BC till the 3 rd century, the Romans have imported white marble from Thassos.
Thassos marble has been used for building temples, palaces, mosques, ambacies, international hotel chains and office buildings.
